Relax Already, It's just 2 sticks and a piece of string!

Well , my secret is out now. Nancy doesn't knit. Shhh, don't tell. I spin and weave, but I don't knit. Well, except for socks. I love hand knitted socks, and with all the gorgeous sock yarns, resistance is futile.  

Come and learn, it's easy as can be, whether you are a long time knitter who is scared of socks, or a novice knitter who can't figure out how one would knit with 5 sticks at a time... You can make beautiful socks!

This is a private session on whatever you would like to learn... better control of twist or size of yarn, spinning off the point, spinning fibers other than wool ..angora, alpaca, cotton, bamboo, flax , hemp, silk, milk...

Beginning Spinning at Florence and SAFF !

Learn to Spin on a Saxony Flyer Wheel

We will be teaching spinning in two venues this year, the Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair in Asheville, NC (October 2011) & The Florence Thomas Art School in Glendale Springs NC (June 2011)

Beginning Weaving With Nancy

Florence Thomas Art School

We will begin in the morning by figuring and winding a warp out of handpainted mohair boucle lace weight yarn, putting the warp on the loom and then weaving off a gorgeous lacy scarf that you can wear home at the end of the day!
